Our history
American Tile Company, Inc. had humble beginnings. Founded in 1967 by husband and wife Vince and Dola Mattingly, the couple started their business with little more than determination and the responsibility of five mouths to feed, after Vince’s previous employer closed its doors. Despite facing adversity and skepticism from others, the Mattingly’s believed in their abilities and proved their critics wrong when American Tile Co. was officially incorporated in 1968. Over five decades later, the company has grown into one of the region’s largest and most respected tile contractors, holding the highest industry certifications in the country. Under the leadership of third-generation owner Vince III, who took the reins in 2012, American Tile Co., Inc. continues to prioritize quality, employing CTEF-certified installers and maintaining its prestigious NTCA 5-Star contractor status.
